Keeping Your Word was the Finale of our Christian Women’s Fellowship meetings for
2008. The theme for the event was inspired by the words of an original composition
of the same name by Vicky Feilla. ‘Keeping Your Word’ is a song of testimony that
brought much encouragement and blessing to us all throughout the year and aptly
conveys our own desire as a women’s ministry to support and to see true Christian
fellowship established in our community.
The event featured scriptural narrations, musical items and three keynote speakers.
The theme for the event was taken from John 15:10, ‘If you keep My word, you will
abide in My love.’ The word of God is a rich treasure, and forms us as sons of God
as we believe, receive and abide in the word that we hear.
Even in contrary circumstances and difficult situations, God’s word strengthens
us and instructs us in the way we should live. We can put aside our own thoughts,
emotions, opinions and perspectives and live according to His word.
We know that His word is ‘near’ us and is not too hard for us to understand. God
says, ‘My word goes forth from My mouth … it shall accomplish what I please, and
it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it’. Isaiah 55:11.
